Moose Mountain 2009
Moose Mountain Vintage Show and Ride
2009
2/8/09
I received additional pics and this note from Kirk and Marsha to wrap up the Moose Mountain Show.......
Moose Mountain in Brookfield, New Hampshire was alive with Vintage Snowmobiles on January 25th. The first annual Vintage Show at Moose Mountain was a huge success despite the cold weather with 57 Vintage sleds on display. The show started at 9 am with many spectators. While the judging was taking place many of the vintage sleds could be seen climbing the ski slope. At first I thought we were having hill climbs but it was just those vintage guys riding their sleds and putting on a good show for everyone in the lodge. Speaking of the lodge, what a great place to watch the action and warm up. It has a great restaurant, with windows across the front that is great for watching all those vintage sleds. At 12:30 judging was done and trophies were presented to the following.
Antique Pre 1970 Kent Thompson, Wells Maine with his 1968 Snow Jet
Trail Sled 1971-1975 Tom Espinosa, Wolfeboro Falls, NH with his 1973 Polaris TX500
Trail Sled 1976-1981 David Bergquist, Durham, NH, with his 1979 Arctic Cat Lynx 2000T F/A
Race Sled up to 1975 Peter Daigle, Nashua, NH, with his 1975 Arctic Cat El-Tigre Z 440
Race Sled 1976-1982 Tom Snell, Alton, NH, with his 1979 Polaris TXC
Farthest Traveled: Dan Chicoine, Chelsea, Maine
Peoples Choice, Jerry Burke, Barrington, NH with his 1979 Ski Doo Blizzard 7500
After trophies 40 sleds lined up to go on a 10 mile trail ride. What a sight watching all those sleds enjoying the ride, but the best part of the ride were all 40 made the ride, with no one being towed back. Great job guys. I want to thank all the participants, because without you there is no show, the spectators, and Bob Bourdeau for the location. We hope to see you all next year with a bigger and better event.

2009 Moose Mountain Show
Had a great time this past Sunday at the first anual Moose Mountain Vintage Show and Ride in Brookfield, NH. Had a good turn out of well over 50 sleds on what was a beautiful (brisk) day. The site for the show was wonderful with plenty of groomed trails, great parking and a heated lodge complete with restaurant. Hats off to the organizers and I am all ready looking forward to next year's event.
The winners
Cat seemed to be the most represented brand.
Plenty of fine examples on hand for the black and green fans.
This Blizzard drag sled turned quite a few heads.
The black and yellow were well represented also.
Bob Cicchetto, owner of Rochester Sports Center brought this nice original 1965 Polaris Mustang.
Bob also had several of his nice Cats on hand for the day.
By mid morning, a nice mix of other brands had shown up to round out the field.
It was great to see how many of the sleds drove to the show and participated in the ride.
Great job to everyone involved!!!
