RetroSno vintage photo collection

Winter of 1968-1969
Picutre taken @ Dale F. Carsley's home
Newport , Maine
Racing in New England
Our very own Tom " NHTom" Snell got the ball rolling with his posting of vintage race pics..
I noticed that vintagesleds.com threw it's hat into the ring today with some old Eastern Division photos..
Once again RetroSno.com leads the way..
Now it's my turn...Here's a teaser for you..The image below was taken by my Dad..
Dale F.Carsley ,
at the grass drags in Lancaster , NH in 1974.

The guy on the Thunder Jet holding the checkered flag is wearing a "trademark white full face helmet"...
This is a rare shot of Adema on a '74 T Jet
He & wife Pat cleaned up in Lancaster NH that Sunday...
Many more to come !
The next 3 were taken at the Montreal Trade Show in the spring of 1971..This was the introduction of the 1972 Thunder Jet..

Next up...Dad's truck headed for a dealer show...

The sled on the back is a 1970 fox Trac Spoiler 399..We kept this sled in the family until it was lost in a fire in 1994..If anyone out there knows of a 399 Spoiler , please let us know..
The image below was taken on a local snowmobile club annual trip to Island Falls , Maine , in the winter of 1970.

The man on the Spoiler is club president , Bob Creighton.
He had to borrow the late Tom Folsom's Fox Trac Spoiler 440 because his Arctic Cat broke down..
Dad got it on film..
A fine day !
And this one..taken 40 years ago this week...

The beginning of our families dealership...
Then it was know as Cove Side Snowmobile.
Sellers of Fox Trac & Polaris.
We're still in the business..
Thanks , Dad !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A pic of our 1979 T.O.C. Invader taken in the winter of 1980

A 1972 T Jet at the races here in Newport , Maine..

Note that this 1972 Thunder Jet 295 still has the fan cooled top end in place.
Early production 295's & 340's were shipped to the dealer with fanner top ends ..The F/A components were shipped out after the fact.

" The Hottest Thing On Snow " debut
The photos below are from my Dad's archives. They are from the Kawasaki dealers meeting held in Manchester , NH in the spring of 1977.
Please forgive the image quality..Old Polaroids aren't the greatest...

Kawasaki had just unveiled the 1978 line up..and what a line up it was. The industry really took notice when the wraps were taken off the Invader.

I have to wonder what happened to these prototypes..

1978 Invader 440

1978 Intruder 440
Anyone have a nice example of one of these ???
On the flip side of the coin...The next images are pics of the last Kawasaki snowmobiles we ever received..They arrived in the summer of 1982..After Kawasaki had announced it was leaving the sled business..

You would think that we would have kept at least one of them...

A pic of our T.O.C. sled from back in the day
